    Some of you may not know this but you can navigate some web folders and some you can't. For instance, the URL of this page is "http://dcsymbols.com/index.htm"; if we take the page name off we have just a domain name "http://dcsymbols.com". If we plug that into a browser, it returns this page as the default page in that domain. You can also use the name default.htm. When a browser has a domain name but no page name it looks for default and index.htm first.

    However, in the case of a folder name that has no default or index file in it, the browser lets you 'browse' that folder, like this: http://dcsymbols.com/design/. This means that while you can't browse the root directory of this site, you can browse most of the rest of it. There is a link to an index page at the top. I have now added an alphabetical list of the directories on the site.
